Mixed Media on Canvas, with copper golden leaf, semi-matte varnished and sealed, textured, and 2 ft x 2 ft with frame and ready to hang.
This 2026 mixed media work by Vercmagnus explores the meeting point between structure and emotion.
Through layered textures, fragmented forms, and an earthy palette of warm rusts, golds, deep browns, and muted blues, the composition creates a visual language that feels both architectural and deeply human. Figures emerge and disappear within intersecting planes, inviting viewers into a world where memory, movement, and experience coexist. The work balances abstraction with suggestion, allowing every viewer to discover a personal narrative hidden within its layers.
Inspiration: The inspiration behind this piece comes from the complexity of human existence and the invisible stories that surround us each day. Cities are built from structures, but lives are built from moments, encounters, and emotions. I translate this idea into a layered visual experience where forms overlap much like memories overlap in the mind. The textured surfaces represent the marks left by time, while the scattered figures symbolize individuals navigating through spaces both physical and emotional. Rather than presenting a single fixed story, the painting acts as an open conversation between artist and viewer. Each angle, texture, and shape becomes a reflection of movement, transition, and the beauty found in imperfect fragments of life.
