Subject and statement:
Standing nearly six feet tall and four feet wide, Santorini, Greece is a monumental expression of warmth, inspiration and place. Painted in 2025, this piece captures the timeless charm of the Greek island through a rich palette of orange, blue, and red colors that echo sunlit walls, and the vibrant life that pulses through the narrow streets of Santorini.
With a textured, rustic finish, this work evokes the weathered beauty of ancient architecture and sun-bleached facades. The layered strokes and tactile depth are created using a palette knife technique, allowing each gesture to breathe with movement and emotion. This is not a literal depiction, but a soulful interpretation an emotion rendered in color and texture.
Through Santorini, Greece, I invite the viewer into a place both real and imagined a sanctuary of light, history, and enduring Mediterranean spirit. It is a tribute to wanderlust, nostalgia, and the enduring elegance of a land kissed by sea and sun.
